TANZANIA NURSING AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL

INTERN NURSE OR MIDWIFE FROM OUTSIDE TANZANIA

Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council is mandated to regulate Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice for the sake of the public safety and welfare. The Council is operating under The Nursing and Midwifery Act of 2010.  Section 17 of the Act prescribe procedures of Provisional Registration.

The following are requirements and procedures for Provisional Registration to applicants trained outside Tanzania.

  1. An applicant must be a person of good conduct
  2. Must complete a course from approved training institution and the council satisfied that the standards of such training are not inferior to the approved standards
  3. The acquired degree must be approved by Tanzania Commission of Universities (TCU). However, The Council may reject if the standards of training is inferior as mentioned.
  4. Recommendation letter from the college he/she attended.
  5. Important documents to be attached to support registration process,
    1. Approval letter from TCU
    2. Birth certificates
    3. Academic transcript from the University attended
  1. Certificates of Secondary schools
  2. Recent and standard passport size photo.
  3. For in service, attach Nursing or Midwifery current licence
  4. Registration fee which will be paid after generating a control number of GePG.
  5. Application procedure is done online through https://www.tnmc.go.tz and the applicant shall fill all particulars as required
  1. After verification of documents and approval, the interns will obtain online copies from the system through the generated accounts.
  2. The original copy of provisional registration certificates will be posted to their allocated internship centres before commencements of internship.
